Jason R. Titus holds degrees in music from the Eastman School of Music,
Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and Louisiana State University.
He is currently a Ph.D. student at Eastman, writing a dissertation entitled
“Modal Improvisation and Composition in the Music of Miles Davis.”
His other research interests include the piano voicings of Thelonious Monk
and intertextuality in jazz and popular music.
In addition to his scholarly work, he performs on guitar, bass,
and keyboards in several Rochester and New York City bands.
